abstract = "Resumo Este relatorio descreve a metodologia utilizada para a
Amazonas. Essas imagens foram geometricamente corrigidas
utilizando pontos de controle extraidos de cartas topograficas e
carta-imagens na escala de 1:250.000. Alem disso, essas imagens
(1991). A retificacao radiometrica produz resultados diferentes
Abstract This
report describes the methodology used for the elaboration of the
digital mosaic of the Amazon River Planicie (MDPA) from Landsat TM
images. The confeccao this mosaic was planned in July 1995 as an
activity of the EOS-IDS Project that is being developed within the
co-operation between the INPE, the SCENE, the University of
Washington in Seattle (UW), the University of California at Santa
Barbara ( UCSB) and NASA. The MDPA and composed of 29 Landsat TM
images that were selected with the cloud cover and within the
minimum possible period full of the Amazon. These images were
geometrically corrected using control points extracted from
topographic charts and chart-images on the scale of 1: 250,000. In
addition, these images were radiometrically rectified in relation
to image 231/062 (Manaus region) using the method developed by
Hall et al. (1991). The radiometric rectification produces
different results for the bands of the TM due to atmospheric
influences and characteristics of the scenes used. The MDPA was
then made with the best bands (rectified or not) the images to a
final resolution of 100m x 100m.",
